Energy Efficient Homes
Air-to-Water & Air-to-Air Heat Pumps from Worcester:
Worcester has launched two new Greensource air source heat pumps to add to its growing renewable product portfolio. These pumps offer home owners an alternative option to heat their homes for 'greener' heating with low CO2 emissions.
Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) Facts:
They extract energy from the outside air and use it to heat your home and its hot water supply.
Air-to-Water systems heat buildings through radiators or an under-floor heating system.
Air-to-Air systems produce warm air which is then circulated for space heating.
They can be incorporated in both new build as well as existing properties.
They offer an alternative for environmentally conscious homeowners.
The pumps work very successfully in outside temperatures as low as -20°C.
They are a highly efficient heating and hot water solution whatever the season.
The advanced technology is very popular in other parts of Europe such as Scandinavia, making it more than well-matched to the UK's climate.
Air-to-Water Heat Pump
- These pumps work on similar principles to a domestic fridge.
- Air is drawn from outside, into the unit via an external fan, before converting the heat within the air into usable heat for the home.
- Designed to work with radiators, the pumps transfer the converted heat into water to deliver low-cost energy saving heating and hot water.
- When sufficiently installed the pump can produce up to 4x more heat energy than the electrical energy it consumes.
- There is a choice of three outdoor units - 6kw, 7kw and 9.5kw.
Air-to-Air Heat Pump
- These pumps use the same technique as Air-to-Water Heat Pumps and then circulate warm air internally to a comfortable temperature.
- As an extra they also operate as an air cooler and purifier using plasmacluster Ion-technology.
- They require nothing more than an outside wall.
- They are highly efficient in all temperatures & ideal for open-plan living space and conservatories.
- They run on electricity and do not need additional fuel.
